Below is the proposed architecture for integrating ServiceNow with Power BI using SharePoint as an intermediary (manual workflow). In this example, we focus on Incident and Service Request (SR) data.

The data owner is responsible for manually downloading the Incident and SR data from the ServiceNow platform in a pre-defined Excel format. Once downloaded, the data owner uploads the files to a designated SharePoint location — also manually.
This manual process involves:
- Downloading updated Incident and SR data from ServiceNow
- Uploading the Excel files to SharePoint daily
Once the files are uploaded, Power BI automatically picks up the latest data from SharePoint through scheduled refreshes. Power BI then processes the data and generates reports for users.
Users can access these reports manually through a report URL. Additionally, we will configure automated report subscriptions to deliver updates directly to users’ email inboxes — ensuring timely insights with minimal effort.
